Art Analysis 2 Blog
Art is a way to express emotions in two different ways: sadness and happiness. As a beginning artist I see art as a tool to listen to what I express or how I feel inside. Some people see art as a tool to heal something broken or to create something new, like a feeling they have inside that the only way to get it out is by painting or using art. For that reason I chose this piece created by Michael Murphy. It is a piece that creates illusions of images in a three-dimensional space. This work, as you can see, is different from other kinds of art, whether it is paintings or pencil drawings.
This work of art has as its first element line. The alignment that connects the three dimensional art pieces to the ceiling creates a depth of perspective. These lines attract the gaze and create the illusion of the image when people when people see it from afar, creating an impression of infinite or endless space. The second element is light and shadow, which marks the contrast with the dark part of the image. These two elements draw people's attention, creating visual interest. The last element is the space that the image has, seeing certain clarity and focus of the image. With all these elements combined it makes the work visually emotional and interesting.
The artist of this wonderful work is called Michael Murphy. He is an artist and designer from America. His designs are in a 3D visual style. His recent works were Gun Country, The Immigrant, projects for Michael Jordan, portraits of Barack Obama and a central sculpture in Google. Vista Beach. The gallery is located in Brooklyn, New York. On the other hand I'd love to have this 3d piece like that or personalized or in a smaller version I could have one of those in a large size but only if I had a big house I would like to have a copy of those works of art. I don't have a favorite place to see that kind of art but if I had to choose I would like to see the works that artist Michael Murphy makes in Brooklyn, New York, in its original setting. In the piece of art that I chose, the artist was inspired to recreate the face of his girlfriend Natasha Vladimirova, perhaps he saw inspiration or attraction in her gaze or in her face.
I am very intrigued with this art work. I would have never guessed it was 3 D if I had not watched the video. Its so amazing how you can put something together and from one perspective it looks one way and then yet another. I agree that art is a form of self expression and for some who can't speak or find it hard to they can put it in art to send their message. For me personally I think the saddest creations are my favorite they have some sort of hidden beauty behind it.
