He was a Dutch painter who was famous for his works of light, color and nobility. He only has 34 paintings that survived in its recorded history. Today the works by the artist Johannes Vermeer are recognized as the best in history and are found in the best museums in the world. Most of his paintings are found in ten cities in Europe: London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, The Hague, Frankfurt, Braunschweig, Berlin, and Dresden. Two of his paintings are located in the United States in New York City and Washington, DC and only one painting is located in Japan in the city of Tokyo.   The Artist      Leonardo Da Vinci       Leonardo da Vinci is an artist who is very famous for his amazing talent in painting. He was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy and is best known for his masterpieces such as “Mona Lisa” and “The Last Supper”. He also demonstrates his talent, ability and scientific observation with unique artistic beauty, making him one of the most talented artists in history. However, he worked under powerful people, one of them being the Medici family.      The Medici family was a very powerful banking family in Florence, Italy. They supported artists like Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Michelangelo, allowing them  to learn, create, and teach, supporting the Renaissance.   Without patrons like the Medici family, the artistic  and creative revolution of the Renaissance would not have  occurred.                         ...

       Art is a way to express emotions in two different ways: sadness and happiness. As a beginning artist I see art as a tool to listen to what I express or how I feel inside. Some people see art as a tool to heal something broken or to create something new, like a feeling they have inside that the only way to get it out is by painting or using art. For that reason I chose this piece created by Michael Murphy. It is a piece that creates illusions of images in a three-dimensional space. This work, as you can see, is different from other kinds of art, whether it is paintings or pencil drawings.      This work of art has as its first element line. The alignment that connects the three dimensional art pieces to the ceiling creates a depth of perspective. These lines attract the gaze and create the illusion of the image when people when people see it from afar, creating an impression of infinite or endless space.
